i really was hoping this would happen. since the sonny forum is now long gone i thought there might be one in its place. like sports or science. i somehow don't think this will happen

Ah yes, a new forum: Like my previous thread, on a Science forum, which can be found here. A few people suggested a Sports forum there as an addition as well.
Well, I have nothing against a Sports Forum, but I also want my Science Forum. People countered me with the explanations of:
*No one would go there *There aren't enough people to go there *People would spam
Although you and I can argue them all with simple logic (Duh, they spam everywhere), that will be pointless unless an admin sees this, and decides over it. Or a mod sees it, and tells an admin.

True, AG is a bit slow on getting new features, but they're also pretty fast on catching bugs. And if AG were a democracy (Funny way to put it), we'd be doomed. Be happy with the feudalistic system we have (Admins give out fiefs, or mod-power, who take care of the site from peasants, us).
I don't like the idea of a science forum. All science debates go into WEPR as far as I can see. Sometimes there's a bit of religious input but that would be spammed rapidly over threads in a solely scientific forum. I'd say just put your science threads in WEPR because that's where I see most of the intelligent discussion.
It will never happen. Why? Because it already happened, and it failed.
There's quite a large difference between an idiot that doesn't understand the word spam and an entire forum devoted to sports fans. I think if all sports topics were pulled together into one section there would be some pretty big threads with good discussion going on.
Just because one person can't make a sensible thread of reasonable size it does not mean sports fans should not get a forum. :|

I agree. Seriously, The Tavern would be far from happy if all sports conversation landed in that forum. WEPR is for intelligent discussion relating to religion, science, politics and news, Popular Media is for discussion relating to miscellaneous news, music and films (IMO), and The Tavern is for everything else. However, there is so much you could say about sports that The Tavern doesn't really fit. Sonny 2 got its own forum when too many Sonny discussions were sparked in Flash Games.
I suspect the reason why this won't be added is because at the moment how many sports threads are actually in The Tavern? There is not really any signs of a massive popularity of sports in these forums. Of course, that could be due to people being uncomfortable or unsure posting a sports thread in The Tavern - but there's quite a big risk making a forum to do with sports would be a waste of time.

Yes, but I can tell you that as long as I have been here, a Sports Forum hasn't been on AG. As I can see, it was taken down, but it may have been for different reasons (AG was still young, Community was being changed, new forums where added).

Useless. About as efficient as squeezing Science into one thread. Like squeezing Earth into a duffel bag... Could be done, but it would suck for everyone, and because it would suck no one would use it, and it would die out quickly.
