Recently, it has been announced that Bethesda Softworks (who developed and published the smash-hit game Fallout 3, and produced The Elder Scrolls series) have teamed up with inXile Entertainment (who produced the Bard's Tale - and have members who worked to create Baldur's Gate) to produce a new game called Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

Hunted is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and will be a hack'n'slash dungeon crawl played in a fantasy setting. No confirmed release date has been set.

The story will revolve around two mercenaries: E'lara a veteran marksman and Caddoc an expert in swordsmanship, who have vowed to find out where missing innocent villagers are being held captive, after a recent appearance of demonic, evil creatures.

The game will be played co-op and in third person view, with one person playing as E'lara and the other as Caddoc as you adventure through dungeons, abandoned villages, and forests on your quest. Your skills will improve, and you can upgrade your weaponry as you advance through the storyline, slashing your way through hordes of goblins, spiders and other classic fantasy creatures.

Personally, with these two great game developers teaming together to make a modern dungeon crawl I have high expectations.

What are your thoughts?
