We learned in science class that the earthquake in Haiti knocked the eart off of its axis decreasing the day by like 0.023 miliseconds... I think the one in Chile also did... that is um... kinda scary o_O.

where is the proof?
I heard in science class today that grass is always on fire, anyways i believe this is highly very highly unlikely seeing how we have larger earthquakes than this all the time with no effect of such sort.

i have heard that the earth axis was knocked off a little... and i did notice a .023 millisecond early end to the day...

It's not flaming, i just like reliable things.

I did not ask if anybody noticed it... I simply said it was scary... that must be REALLY hard to understand.

whyis... there is not proof for every single thing. I'm sorry, but there just isn't. So stop trying to make everybody give you every single bit of proof for things that sometimes even SCIENCE cannot explain. Yes I said it. You want examples?

God
Angles
Demons
Ghosts
Aliens
Cyclops
Lizard-Men
Vampires
Werewolves
Sking-Walkers
Chubrecabras
Etc.

Let's NOT get into a debate about this now because that would not be discussing the topic =D

Its ok. People tend to pick on other peoples intelligence to make themselves look good on this site. It happens all the time. You get used to it Everyone now days has to be so dang up tight and can't hardly think for themselves.

Angles

That can be explained simply with a protractor. All you have to do is measure it and you know how many degrees it is. There, now that I've solved that for you, I'll discuss the real topic.

that must be REALLY hard to understand

What's hard for me to understand is how the earth could knock itself out off its own axis. I've never understood geology, so I'm sure there's an obvious explanation for how and why this happened, but it's got me puzzled.

So stop trying to make everybody give you every single bit of proof for things that sometimes even SCIENCE cannot explain.

Well, we do need some kind of proof to know that what you're saying is correct. Otherwise, we can't fully believe it. If you say there's no proof that it happened, how do you know it happened in the first place?

god is an entity that is worshipped by many,he is who we will meet after we die-grimmy the reaper

angles can be explained,it ranges from 1 to 129600,though angels cant

vampires are proven to be false, people believed in them as during times of mass diseases occuring at the same time, the cemetery will be opened, and the corpses will look bloated up,with a small hole in the cloth used to cover their faces, and the people would put a brick into their mouth and impale them with a stake
they were bloated up due to the gases produce when they decompose, and the hole in their face cloth was due to the fact that their saliva corroded the cloth after a long time

though, this sounds interesting, but is there any science into this at all?

OK then no it is not scary to me bec. a second was added this year to, so that small amount of time is pushed back and forth, it isnt a second in a day it is a second in a year for what i was talking about, i thing that it will not get out of hand though, things tend to work themselves out. SORRY FOR BEING IN A DEBATE MOOD.
PS: still think that it is interesting and would love to read an article?

That's ridiculous, and where is your proof?

So stop trying to make everybody give you every single bit of proof for things that sometimes even SCIENCE cannot explain.

Your really saying this to someone who wants to know if what you say is right? Pathetic. In your OP your supposed to back up what you say. If I said fish were every color of the rainbow who would believe me? I would need proof. And is someone asks for my evidence it's not flamming it's common sense unlike how you falsely said whyismynametom was flamming.

And how exactly do you lose time in a day. A day is still 24 hours no matter what an Earth quake does right?

It was the earthquake in Chile and it was only by about 1.26 microseconds.

Have to say whyismynametom did seem rather pointless, but I have to wonder if you didn't want to debate about this then why did you post it in the debate section?

Huge earthquakes often shorten the day, or make it longer by milliseconds. They tend to cancel each other out. Chile's shortened our days by 1.26 microseconds. I think the Indonesian quake (the one with the tsunami) sped up our days by a microsecond or so. It all tends to level itself out.

Its really not significant, but all major earthquakes can shorten the day by a microsecond or two, but, when you add them all up, we probably miss 1 500th of a second :O.

There is proof for everything real.
