The site does always seem to be lacking funds at times, and I think adding a donation button might help. It won't hurt, for sure.

A site this big would most certainly get at least some amount of donations from people. We have millions who come to the site, after all.

Thoughts?

There's really nothing wrong with this.. and I think it wouldn't get in the way of anything.. People who have money donate.. and something is better then nothing, am I Right?

Also:

So if this donation button is added, it should be for everyone to donate, not just for members.

Well it would have to be open to everyone, so then anyone around the world could pay and such..

Another objection:

It might make AG look greedy if we shove a donation button in front of the home page. At least we should somewhat conceal it, I guess.

o.o How does that make AG look greedy?

They aren't gonna force you to pay are they?

So it's alright to have it maybe like a button that says donation somewhere up top and if anyone is interested, they can donate.

There is not point hiding a donate button on the site. Donate doesn't look greedy in anyway.

But most of the members of AG are not old enough of have the ability to donate through Paypal.

I'm sure there are better ways to help AG.

There's always away to have your parents PayPal.. It's not that hard.. it's the same as having a parents credit card.. and of course the person would just ask if they could donate.

There's a problem: AG doesn't have 50,000 active accounts. Even if we did, only a small portion of them would donate any money to help fund the site.

There are millions who come on the site. You don't need an account to enjoy the games. Most people who do come on here come for the games, and really nothing else.

I see the objections, but it's free. They aren't paying to have a donate button, so what harm could it do?

Supplement, not source, of money.

I say it would be a good idea. It won't hurt anything, at least. It will probably help, if even a little.

I like the idea, but a lot of problems have risen with it like some members stated...

# Since most users are under aged, they can't own a credit card and therefor have no means of donating money to AG... :S

# A lot of users here simply want to play games and (I assume) they feel like if they donate something to AG, they'd be paying to play the games... :S

# Even if users donate something to AG, wouldn't that be like a drop of water on a hot plate?
Counter-argument topping that immediately would be that indeed something is better than nothing, but stilll... :S

My opinion is that the best way for AG to get funds is to increase the store's content and get money flowing in there, since a lot of people want AG related stuff and are willing to pay for it! I would... =D

i'm pretty sure you cant get a credit card till your 18

I think you are wrong about that. Some people I know that are 12 and 13 have a credit card, and they have showed me it too. Unless the rules are different where you live, I think anyone can get a credit card.

The site does always seem to be lacking funds at times,

I wonder, how come half the users apparently know about the lack of funds, when there seem to be no proof of this?
Or more importantly, why do they know better than the staff and McNeely?

Therefore, two things: If there was a problem, I kinda do believe the staff would know a way to get around it properly.
If you still believe it is such a problem, go buy a ton of stickers from the store.
