similarity could be defined as related. You get idea from seeing the other and try to have a discussion branching off of a different aspect of it.

People in this thread need to improve grammar and spelling...

when someone will make a thread about something and then there will be another thread about something similar to the last one. Or someone will make a comment on a thread and that will end up being the title for another thread.

Of course this happens, that's simply one of the ways that the human mind works.
