They changed their name, but I think it might only work on the American site. Not sure. It is in reaction to the fact that the mayor of Topeka, Kansas made a "roclamation" for the name of the city to be changed to Google.
I checked two of the pranks. Google has made the directions given to you on Google Maps Australia, somewhat colloquial or slangy.
Turn a smidge left when you get to Pyrmont Bridge Rd Chuck a left when you get to George St
Oh and I get this when making searches.
Results 1 - 10 of about 117,000,000 for haha. (2.00 shakes of a lamb's tail)
Note that it should be seconds, not shakes of a lamb's tail.
Check it yourself. So far the only thing I see is a weird layout change.
Couldn't get pranked on YouTube. And yes, I find that new layout annoying as well. Like they left out half of the screen for comercials. It took me some time to get used to new profiles design, this change will also need some time adjusting to.
I can't see this as a April fool's joke if they are going for it.
Well I originally thought it was a joke, but then it isn't a joke. The joke for this year, are those text videos. I find them to be interesting however so I really don't get it.

Those were posted yesterday, so it could not have been a joke. Also that new Admin is on the about page, that was also done yesterday, also could not be a joke, but we'll see
