I think you should be able to search for your friends profiles, so that I can have them on my friends list. A lot of my other friends have profiles on AG, but I can't find them easily, and can't add them to my friends list.

What's stopping you from asking your friends through email for their usernames on AG? And if you don't have their email, ask them in person... should work just fine! =)
