Does anyone have any questions or comments about these games?
If you haven't played any of these yet then start here: http://www.battleon.com/aq-signup.asp?friend=44838566 NOTE: This link is for the original AQ, the most basic for you to understand the AQ world.
Adventure Quest, Mech Quest and and AQWorlds are all they really need. Artix Entertainment really are developing the franchise too far - Epic Duel is pretty much a carbon copy of Mech Quest just without the power-suits and Dragon Fable is pretty much Adventure Quest with the ability to move and adventure with more interactivity.
In Adventure Quest I was a level 90 Wizard as far as I remember but it simply became boring. It seemed as if you could only become powerful through giving Artix Entertainment a lot of real-life currency for Z-Token which you'd then spend on some horribly animated armour to help you complete some dreadful quests. The RPG elements were extremely lacking - there was very little substance to them. You would spend your days sitting there furiously clicking attack to kill a monster three times your level and then quests were appalling. It was just monster after monster after monster and it just became boring.
I played Dragon Fable for a little while but I didn't find that much more interesting. Whilst Artix Entertainment had taken a good step towards more interactive gameplay it was largely the same. I couldn't really move on without giving Artix Entertainment more money and the quests were pretty bad too.
AQWorlds was just bad. 'Nuff said.
Mech Quest was probably the best one. The humour was pretty witty, there was a half-decent storyline that was easy to follow, it was interactive and pretty accessible and upgrading your shotgun to a missile launcher was unbelievably satisfying. But once again, Artix Entertainment fail to meet their claims - the game really has weak RPG elements. Sure you can join what are effectively guilds and work you're way through their own little storyline that will increase your rank but there really was no sense of purpose and there were not many skills as it were.
So yes, whilst the games did all have some good humour and were relatively exciting for the first few days they soon became boring and extremely frustrating.
