I just heard about a 6.9 Earthquake. Here's what CNN said about it "A string of earthquakes rattled the Pacific Coast of the United States and Mexico on Sunday, including a magnitude 6.9 quake that could be felt across Baja California, Arizona and southern California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported."
Here's a link if you need anymore information. This thread is made for people to post what they've heard about it, death tolls (if any), etc.
I actually felt it at my home, which is some 35 miles north of LA. This one was a side-by-side quake, which feels a bit trippy (kind of like if you're on a train or a boat). The up-and-down quakes are worse because they make things rattle instead of swing.
Earthquakes of this magnitude happen all the time, it's just that the more recent ones have been more prone to hitting densely populated areas. So really, the fact that there was a 7.2 earthquake isn't a big deal - it's where it happened.
