Hello, let me state my problem first. My PS3 wont play games. When I put a game in, the clock in the corner spins, indicating its loading. the clock stops for a second, the PS3 makes a sound that sounds like its ejecting the game. The clock then spins again and the game doesn't show up in the XMB menu. I have a PS3 slim. I got it for Christmas, it is now Easter Sunday. It is 4 months old and is now completely not reading games. It started having problems at 3 months old and now it just isn't loading my games at all.
What I have done to fix it- I have restored the system default settings already. Didn't work. Say i put in a game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. i go to my message box and join an invite to a MW2 party (game disc icon isnt showing up) and my ps3 says: 'to join the party you must insert the following disc: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. i have vacuumed the vents. so far, nothing is working. i need an idea, someone please reply on what i should do.
What i would like for you to comment- something that is more unique, something that will help based on my problems and my ps3, which is a slim.
Something i need help with- Is there a code somewhere on the ps3, like an identification code that i can call sony, tell them the code, and then they can find the store that the ps3 was purchased from, find the warranty in the store records so i can return and replace it for free? since it is 4 months old, and im pretty sure the warranty is active for 9 months to a year, it sounds like it can work. can someone list me step by step on how i can return and replace it through a code on the actual ps3? (cant find the receipt or warranty :P)
i know whats wrong. sometimes when u leave youre ps3 on for a long period of time (such as over night for many times) the bluray censor dies, this also may be caused by turning off youre ps3 from the switch when the ps3 is still on.
im guessing its most likley the blu-ray censor that died cause ive gone through a similar problem. so im going to go ahead and give you some advice on what to do.

if its the bluray censor problem then it wont play any dvds or nothing. so first try that.
if those dont work then that means its deffinatly the censor no doubt about it. in wich case take to a system repair game store. (buy back games)
buy back games i know FOR SURE repairs bluray censors cause thats where i got mine fixed. if you do this you should be able to get youere ps3 back within a week. it may cost a sum amount though. not much.
if you were to find youre warrenty and reciept then you can send it into sony and get it repaired for free but it will take alot longer.
thankyou :] i just wrote down my PS3's code on the back and im going to try to call sony today. i dont care if it takes longer (2-4 weeks i heard) if it is fixed for free ill be happy
