No. They really don't need to have a portable game console. I'm sure they would be just fine creating one, and probably make a lot of money at first, but Nintendo already controls the portable gaming industry.

Since Nintendo really screwed up with their DS, I think they have a chance.

That's true... however it would be very difficult for them to catch up, since lots of people already have a ds, and most will probably not want to spend more money for another portable game console, especially if they are hardcore Nintendo fans.

There really is no need, Xbox is at the top of its game for consoles, I don't see why Microsoft would even consider making a portable gaming device at this point.

Well.. the 360 slim makes the Xbox easier to travel with if you are into gaming and very serious. i was never a very big fan of portable handhelds like the gameboy... i perfer consoles

To be honest the Nintendo DS is really bad... the PSP has grown old. If the xbox portable were to come out this year, it would have been phenomenal.

SosolidClaws elaborate please DS has sold the most units and has an amazing library.

Fact is microsoft wouldn't be able to make a dent in the platformer market even if they promised to destroy 1 kinetic for every unit bought.

I don't care how much it has sold, I always see a DS in 8 year old's hand, it's a boring portable console.
