I'm about to become an eagle scout but first i must do some sort of project. It just has to be beneficail to anyone but boy scouts. Anyway I need some ideas, so if you have any thanks.
Build a gazebo in the park. It benefits everyone, because it shelters people from the rain, but since a scout doesn't fear the rain, it doesn't benefit them. It's perfect!
Donating to charity is a huge act of kindness. It doesn't have to be a whole complicated project, does it? Because a simple donation can be worth more than months of planning to get something done.
build a bench or a small bridge or something simple like that. Although, It really depends on what sort of jobs your community has to offer. really, this isn't the sort of thing you should be asking on AG. I would suggest talking to your scoutmaster if you have no ideas.

It's not donating if he profits off the donation i.e. becomes Eagle Scout.

That's actually a good idea!
You will probably need to do more than a car wash or regular charity work, so find something that is run down and restore it. If there's a lake nearby that's dirty, clean it up and restore the lake. Help build picnic tables and playground equipment at a park or something.
Obviously you will need permision to do all this stuff, but that's how you become an Eagle scout.
Thanks for all the ideas. I can think of the perfect park to do the project. I'm may even plant flowers and make a good flower bed with the gazebo. thanks again.
One of my friends built a info center/bench on a local trail, another made a cement path for my church, my brother made an info stand, there's lots of posibleitys.
make everything look nice haha. Rebuild cracked furniture or repaint peeled walls, clean up graffiti, pick up rubbish and clean the floor, help the elderly do jobs
Actually Cleaning Would Work Great... Find A Messy Park, Or Any Area Where Trash Has Become The Norm... Clean It... Your Guaranteed A Badge... Thats What I Did...
We're not talking about some merit badge, we're talking about an Eagle Rank, the highest rank in BS
Funny. In our troop, the nickname for Boy Scouts is the BS of America...
I'd suggest going to a nearby camp, or anywhere that has trails prone to blockage, and clearing out anything that might prove a hazard, or just a nuisance. Cleaning up any trash you find helps, too. It worked for one of my friends, and he barely had to do anything, thanks to our slave driver of a Scoutmaster.
