Because it did not work out in the first place. It was basically a quick and dirty search, which worked as well as any of the unofficial ones, but took up server space and made the site lack. If a search should be official and actually work, it would lack much more, but wait and see how it will go in the v3, huh.

Freakenstein has a link to the old Community one. A close look will show you how to use it. Be warned! It is extremely, extremely slow and half the time doesn't work.
The same would be with users I guess: You need whole servers to do this kind of searching (Google has those, AG does not).

No, that's a thread with links to DDX's forum search, not user search. And I the reason it's there is to show the links, not make a discussion.
Ah, you guys are talking nonsense. I know all that, but those search engines are not that accurate, so why AG doesn't make an official one?
Because there is no serious need for it. All active threads are on the front (Or second) page, everything else is dead (Bringing it up is necroing). Why make something that causes major lag and has no significant use.
And think of it this way: We've been here the whole time without one, why do we need it now?
