He was a great guitarist, but his band didn't have a very good sound. I don't like most of his songs. He has a blues album that's really good though.

I think Jimi is a great guitarist, I even really like some of his vocals. But I think he's overrated overall.

I don't always like the mashy and dissonant styles of rock, but Hendrix kicked ass at it.

Mitch Mitchell was a beast drummer. How could you not appreciate him?

You can have great musicians in a band, but it can still not be very good. They didn't write very good songs, jimi hendrix is a terrible singer, they have a very empty sound, and I don't like how he made his guitar sound. It seems like the whole band depends on jimi hendrix's guitar solos. I'll say that they had a few good songs, but there's a lot more bad songs than good.

What's that all about Jimi being a bad singer?! He's a great singer, imo, and his bands had a lot of good songs.

The special quality of Hendrix' songs was the innovative technics he used. If it wasn't for his "off the wall" scales, groups like Metallica and Lamb of God would not have used the discordance of the flatted 5th as a tonic overtone.
