Wow, way to make a unique thread. There are probably dozens of "best game ever" threads...
Anyways, yhere is no single best ever video game, but some are agreed to be all time, undeniable classics like LoZ, Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man, StarCraft, etc. Some of my personal favorites include Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band 2, Halo, COD:MW2, Burnout, SSBB, and the online MMORPG RuneScape.

Unreal Tournament 99. Or 2004. Undeniably one of the (if not the) best FPSs ever made. Some of the fastest action you'll find, a mature community, fair weapons, fun gameplay, diverse maps, large modding community, unique gametypes etc.
I really likes Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4. they where some pretty epic games. I didnt even mind the stinkin long cut scenes because they at least added to the games. Some of my favorite boss fights.
I'm with peek on that one... Threads like these litteraly make my gamer head blows pal...it's impossible to point out a specific, standing out video game out of general criterias. To do this you need very specific rules or standards like ''surreal-racing''. Then you have the means to get to burn out without having to eliminate the overrealistic GT games. Know what I mean? If by any chance you get an answer out of somebody it'll be out of pure subjectivity, thus having absolutely no use to us whatsoever...Well anyways...In the ''real time Rpg'' style I'd choose Tales of destiny 2. PS: seeing how you have to wait in ff7 even though they included the time bar system I don't class it in real time rpg. (See, uber specific lol...)
I like Halo 3 the most as its got a great community unlike MW2 were its full of angry agressive people and infinty ward does nothing online to make it intresting were as Halo always has something new added for example double exp weekend and the online is awesome because of forge and stuff so theres always new things for it.
