I wonder if it would be possible to add something like info panel about already played and not already played games.
Maybe it could be when you select a game on the little info that appears when you let your mouse stand on the little picture of the game.
I guess this is quite difficult to set in place... There are other way to do such a thing I think, maybe just add a logo o the game page but it would be very nice to have this info before selecting the game in fact.
That sounds good bijnok. Though you could simply bookmark games you've already played. Or maybe make a list of games you've played already somewhere. Rating them is not good unless you know what you are going to rate them.
To give an answer to K34, I said in the first post that I would be nice to get this information before going to the game page ( and the rate bar is on this page ).
Do a bookmark list lead to another problem, I don't know how many games there are but after a while it would take more time to chack the list than to load the game's pae ^^
I thought of an external application that could do that, lke an extesion for web browser but, in case such a thing could be created, the games already played wouldn't be taken in account because only AG has this information.
Yeah I know, no problem, that's a suggetion topic so I suggest ^^^ Making a text editor would be the same as a bookmark list. I rated 499 games and played more than that, who could remember each one of them? and as I said before, it makes a very long list to check... Now I realise it requires quite a huge database (n games * m players).
I don't see a point in this, unless you play a lot, a lot of games (Like over 500).
rate every game you play and it will be easy to keep track
Yes, I think that's a good idea. But I recommend playing the game properly before rating. As you can see, Floyd has used improvisation to solve this problem. You too can do the same.
Here's another one: Check your history if you've ever gone onto the game page. If you have, most likely you will have played it. Firefox is very useful for this, it recognizes the link and the name pretty fast and accurate.
Textedit might be long, but it's another way. And bookmarks, as others have suggested.
Making a text editor would be the same as a bookmark list.
Yes. Just make a list. Text editor, bookmarks, paper and pen, rating games fairly, browsing history whatever. As long as you have something to keep track of.
Your history should be the easiest way to track, however.
First, some people erase their history each time they close their browser (I used to do it). Second, maybe a text info panel could appear when the mouse is standing over a game (that exists in flash in some statistic scripts) such as: -play/not play -rate:x / not rated (with x the mark you gave)
So you can see easily if you've played and rated a game.
the idea of list is ok if you start it when you start playing on this site... same for bookmark.
The idea to fav games is not good, the number of times a game was faved is another good value to see if a game is good (could appear in the info panel ^^).
I'd have to second the idea of FlydTC for being the best option in this! This is the way I use to check whether I reviewed that particular game already... I play the game, review it and rate it to 'check it as already-done'! And I don't recall ever coming across a game I already reviewed/rated and find out that my rating has dissapeared, so it seems the best way to do this!
Check your history if you've ever gone onto the game page.
That would present a problem when you clear your history... then you cannot check back to see if you already played it, plus... you might have taken a peek at a certain game , but didn't play it yet, thus making you wonder whether you did or not and maybe forget/miss the game completely! Just like you stated bijnok, I clear my history every day, so this would mean a no-no for me...
The idea you present in terms of making a small bookmark or text appear when you hover your mouse over the icon is actually quite good, but like you stated yourself afterwards, it has the problem of being to big in implementing it to this website... so I don't see it happening anytime soon...
