I believe Halo: Reach (the newest halo coming out September [beta May 3rd]) Can solve all these hatreds to your Halo "hate".
Proof:
Can't scope in, *assualt rifle equiped* oh look an enemy wayyyyy over there, i'll get him by hip firing! FAIL.
Super slow

In the new Halo: Reach the beta is expected to have zoom in most, if not all, weapons!

Super slow? Ha, that was Halo 1, 2, and 3. But for Reach, you are now able to sprint and evade!
2 people may be able to beat each other down still, I honestly don't know that.
Master Chief is Micheal Jordan under that armor,
have you seen him jump? How can you hate that?
In Halo: Reach, you are a younger prototype of Spartans. Meaning, you don't jump high anymore and you now have health and a shorter shield.
I hate HALO for one simple reason. The first one was completely lame. It was a weak shooter from the start. The only reason that it survived is that it had a decent control scheme for a console based game. Anyone who has ever played a TRUE shooter know that you can't appreciate a first person shooter without a keyboard (WADS) and a mouse. Doom was innovative, Quake was innovative, Unreal was innovative, HALO was a weak port of the advances made by the pioneers to the console community. And it was heralded as an advancement in FPS gaming? I think not. To me, HALO is nothing more than a rehash of advancements in gaming made years before it's release. The only thing that HALO had going for it is large amounts of money for advertising/propaganda.
With all time new graphics and design, new never before tried FPS game types and new variants and more armor customization (that you can wear in CAMPAIGN!), I think Halo: Reach will spice up the series again. Go out with a bang, you know?

3. just because its on xbox doesn't mean its the best!

1. I am a fan of Halo, and I do not think it's best, but I do believe the new Halo: Reach will make me stop playing COD Modern Warfare 2 and be amazed by the awesome and endless possibilities that Reach will hopefully bring. And I think Team Fortress 2 is best, even though I love Halo.

3. And just because it's on Xbox surely doesn't make it the best, I agree, for I like to play me some FarCry 2 on the PS3! :3 (I love that game).
Basically I think Reach will change a lot of peoples views on Halo and will definitely be a fun and unique game to explore. So I suggest you try the game.
