I think if a user is online you could see what they are playing Example
bgerm52 is playing Raze.

Heres my other suggestion, it would be nice if you could see your friends [or whoevers profile your looking at] game ratings.
The reason why I feel these go in the same topic is because they both give you a reason to look at someones profile.

We used to have something similar, two years back:

The red dot next to the user's name on their Profile would go green when they were active (Typed, or rated something), and it would show the last time they were active. There was also a list of active users at the bottom of the Community home page.

The dot function along with 'Active this many minutes ago' was taken down due to mega-lag, where the site often took minutes to load (And not to mention the games...). The red dot is now simply decoration...

The Community list was taken down due to optimization, and has not returned since. With a bit of luck, Admins will remember this in AG 3.0, and it will return.

I'm saying the dot feature because it is pretty similar to what you are suggesting to the 'Game being played by friend'.

Rate games on your opinion, not that of your friends. They an tell you in a comment if you want it.

People also go to Profile's to comment. And read their About. Those are good reasons to go to Profiles.

I agree with bgerm we need something that says (Insert Username) Is Playing (Insert Game Name) .....On Our profiles so we know what games our friends are currently playing and another thing there should be a "Last Game Played " Section!

Hmmm I think thats a pretty good Idea but why not just typing your own status like for exampl saying I'm gone for the moment. Either way its a good idea.

I don't understand that though, because plenty of forums that been i.e. hallpass tell whether the user is active or not, with little to no lag.

That would make AG like some other sites.

Me too, one should probably ask Dan or Carlie.

Having a (Username) is Playing (Game) applet would enhance this site. It may be able to be put in the sites AGI as part of the AG 3.0. update. Another idea, which should be shelved until further notice.

We used to have a User Online feature but it caused too much lag.

On status-issue: This is not really a social networking site. Saying what you do all the time, or having the site observe you (it would be like that, if everything you did was recorded on your profile) is not really something a Flash site's community/userbase would have anything good come out of. I for on would not be horribly interested in people sitting on my profile and staring at the status and follow me around the forums and the games, and I am rather sure that people will ask and bother me, if there was a function to turn it off and I did.
Hell, people even try to make me get an armatar, so if such a "useful" function wasn't enabled, they would either think I was doing something like breaking the rules, or that I am too lazy and I don't want people to find out.
Considering how much of what mods do is more or less private between a user and the mod, it would ruin a lot.

If there was a field for writing this.. You already have your about. But it in bold on top of the page, and you have something people can look at. (Just like writing whether you are online or offline always should be done in the about and NOT in the comments). If you are too lazy to change it all the time, isn't there a chance that people are too lazy to care and read it?
Things like "Is online, on forums.", "Is online, playing games." and "Is online" is fine and gives more information people can use. If you are online, woot for that. If you are playing games, then you are probably not looking at your comments the entire time, or seeing that reply to a post you made, and if you are in the forums, there is a good chance that you will be able to catch comments to the profile.
That being said, AG is NOT a chat service either. This means that you should not count on people being able to reply the moment you post something. They should reply when they have time to make a proper reply, and so should you. There is no NEED to be around staring at you comments all the time. If you want it to be like that, get AIM or MSN or any of the probably hundreds of chat services and message services there is around.

Friends seeing the rating: Actually a good idea. Really good, actually. It is relevant to the site, it is usable, and it don't really explore your privacy besides the point that you rated a dress-up game 9/10 or something like that.
I think you should go on with that suggestion, possibly in another thread (two suggestions in one thread often leads to only one thing being discussed, and the thread being locked and stuff like that), so if you please, you should make a new thread on making the ratings public, and see how it goes.
