I think we should have a friend request system like facebook .... only it would say for example: Holden012 Wants To Be Your Friend . Accept Or Ignore .
Other flash game sites do notify you that someone has become your "fan" or has made you a "friend". I think they should be able to make themselves fans of you, and if you add them back then you're both friends of each other.
If not, then a simple notification would work. Though wouldn't someone sensible inform someone before adding them as a friend?
I say notification. Considering how many who uses the friends-section as a handy link section for the different people, and how many users that befriend moderators, there is really no need to make requests. Usually people, if they are hoping to be friend'd back, make a comment on the other's profile. That is enough. I don't really care who is befriending me, but if I had to go through a number of requests every day, and these requests, if accepted, would put the other person on my friendslist, it would defeat the purpose of a friendslist to me. I only have actual friends there, that I usually, or have been talking a lot to, really. So I say, sure, get a notification whenever someone makes you their friend, but keep it at that. We are not a social networking site like facebook, there is no need for all the fancy dressing, when you can just have fun.
