mine was to build shock towers. i think the first half is the most difficult. Once you can buy shock towers and flame towers (upgrade their range a lot) you can almost sit back and enjoy.

i did what rockaholic did but to start i build sniper towers, i got 3 gold above them and 1 flame, i got a bunch of shock towers at the bend and one shock tower with huge range that i upgraded alot :P at the last levels when the boss starts to go away and it gets out of range start to sell your towers

i had 5 shock towers at the end of each level, one had its attack speed fully upgraded. So the bosses didnt even get half through the level.
to get more gold in the first levels i upgraded the different things one by one ($500 extra every 5 levels), but you might have already figured this one out.

It's easy beginning with one sniper and getting money. Get to the point where you can beat the level 8 40 slow's and the 42 fire resistants. Do this with a lot of goldens and one 4k costing fire and some poisons and a lot of shocks. Don't ever upgrade speed because building an extra with extra range is cheaper. Did the last level 100% extra HP for enemy this way with still 20 lives left.
And like i said: lvl 8 and 42 are bitches to not lose lives on.

The first 5 levels is extremly easy, but then all of a sudden you get mobbed by animal monsters... Lol.

I just think that levels are too long. Even if you accelerate the game 3X it takes a while to complete all 50 waves.

Wave 9 is where I currently start to lose lives.

I'm trying all the tips you're all giving me, but I must be missing something because I never seem to make enough $ to buy a whole lot of anything.

What's the deal with towers having "speed" AND "reload"? What does "speed" do?

I think the reload value refers to how long it takes for the tower to fire a projectile/make an attack, as upgrading reload makes the value decrease. Speed probably refers to the movement speed of the projectiles that are fired from a tower. Not too sure though.

I seem to be getting a little closer with level 1, but I'm still not doing something right. What about upgrades? What order do you do them in?

I can get to a point where I am alternating four sniper towers with four shock towers along the first bend, but that's all the funds I can scrape together. I can add a few more sniper towers in the middle, but that's not enough to handle those waves with lots of monsters.

after the first few levels, you should stop buying cheap towers. After 3 sniper/machine gun towers i start to save money for shock and flame towers.

Ahh...I've been doing 3 snipers then 1 shock, then 3 snipers and 1 shock. I can almost beat it now. Damn!
