Hey. What about a pop-up chat box that appears when someone comments on you profile, or some kind of a note you can klick on so it takes you direct to your profile. kind of facebook. ?
AG is not a chat service, nor a social network. If you want to go directly to your profile, click your name, simple as that. Wanting to know if someone commented? Open your email in a new tab, enable comment notification. Granted your email service does as mine do, you will be able to see "(0 new)" in the tab. Other than that: Chat goes to private chat rooms (there are many scattered over the site), or messenger services.
