Really good game. I found it really hard until I found a sure tactic to win.
I went part orcs part undead to get cut down mastery and make crypts good. At the start of each level I just build towers on all the pools and spend spare gold on a crypt tower or two. After that I just cut down trees whenever I can and upgrade crypt towers into ghost towers and keep upgrading them after. When I'm sure that I will have enough gold to upgrade ghost towers when the option appears and still have gold to spare I build extra crypt towers.
The great thing about this tactic is if I run out of trees, I can just spam frenzy (which is made better by skills).
heres a screenie of what I do:
theres only 1200gold worth of trees left at that stage, but the enemies are constantly being frozen and bombarded anyway and I can spam frenzy if I wanted to.
level 19 I have 8/15 Briliants (53%) I have 12/40 Ork skills (30%) I have 8/40 Undead skills (20%) I have 34/40 Demons skills (85%) Total (46% of Game complete)
To get briliant you need to kill 100% waves, alos 100% enemyes, 100% gems left and you win it only if no enemy tuched any of your gems, if any enemy got your gem and you killed him and gem is returned you still can't get more than Perfect becaose, you know, gem was tuched BTW You have compleated 58% of game
anti ninja is to build a demon tower at the start to 'tag' all the ninjas, if its only ninjas it will get them all. my favorite tower is between orc's dens and demon's towers. the orc's dens ballistic upgrade is a beast! 2 of them next to eachother r just so amazingly beastly. i love the demons fast rate of fire though, they are really good on levels that have rock land by the gens because normally it bottlenecks towards the end and a bunch of demon fire towers literally 'lite up' the enemy i like the demon upgrade for experience the most, it really gets the towers upgraded fast. how much more damage does critical shots do? i never really tried using them
i have come to the conclusion (which may not be the final one :P) that demon towers arent that good except on maps like crossroads (my strategy for that was to defend the bottom right gem keep thingymajig because it had 3 and it was easily defendable by firetowers. i only lost one gem from it because the dodging boss got it out farther and a ninja grabbed it, but anyways, i think mana is extremely important if you are having trouble and you dont have the money to upgrade towers or something else, and that its crypt upgrades for mana, and the crypts arent bad either, but the orc's dens are beast with ballistics. demons like the tower that isnt evileye, it makes a big aura of fire around it and does huge damage is really good with extra range towers
Kinda easy - I must have found the right groove early...
Favorite tower - early on it was the Temple (because of the area effect after a few upgrades). Later on, the Crypt with the freeze upgrade and fear works great
Level 38 (trying to get Brilliant on everything, Level's 11 and 14 with the super speedy Ninja boss at the end foil me everytime :-(
Not sure what to say about tactic... I usually put a Temple/Den at entry points to "hide" Ninjas so they expose before getting the gems. I have found that waiting up upgrade is useful for continuing to build exp in towers "further in" without great range. Someone also already mentioned chopping down trees for cash
Would be nice to see a version 2 of this game in a year or two. Maybe add things like terraforming to change Snow to Grass at the expense of time/manna/gold. Also be able to invest to make high ground "higher" (increase range) or give more manna, or something...
Make sure you have a fully upgraded (or three) crypt tower near the entrance(s) and delete every other tower. Fully upgraded the chance to either freeze or fear is pretty danged good, and the first hit (after which it will go invisible) will mostly likely do one or the other, leaving you plenty of time to get more hits in after its 5 seconds are up. Oh, and drop 5 meteors on him. If you can do that, you only need 500 damage with towers, which should be pretty easy.
Brilliant on all but the last (which is excellent.) It is definitely a tricky beast.
The Den tower is amazing, a REALLY powerful shot! I like to have 2 of them, one as the laucher of exploding arrows, other with the Critical Hit upgrade
Beat all levels Brilliant and collected all Skillpoints hoping for some kind of Bonuslevel or something - nothing there unfortunately. (just so all you guys know - no point pursuing perfection in this game )-:
Agree with ManoNegra... just got level 42 and all Brilliant... a bit of a letdown that there wasn't something else unlocked (even something simple like "all monsters have x2 HP" or something)
Got "lucky" on the Ninja bosses to beat them... need to have them Freeze or else I'm not quick enough to meteor them 3-4 times to finish them off...
