Some guys got a problem with this, but theres a trick. At the beginning of the map cut some trees and put a Den, the temple can be good too but the den has Higher range. When ever a Ninja comes the den will shoot at it (if its in range). Then the ninja will automatically use Smoke Bomb for 5 seconds. But it takes 10 seconds for a ninja to get to the gems (i think). So when his 5 seconds are up its actually obvious that at the middle of the map is where your towers are placed. so... dead ninja.
This really works, and the best tower to defeat ninjas are Crypts because when you upgrade them to chilling tower enemies will run away.
its obvious that the frightful crypts are the best towers in the game when fully upgraded. (75% fear 25% freeze and the chain hit)
halfway through the game i just stopped using the other towers. i beat the last map at lvl 22. and i woulda beaten it on excellent if the stupid ninja boss didnt run so damned fast. another not is that i only had 6 towers. one on each hill.
another note is that cut out is an extremely important spell for this. when you upgrade it fully it costs 50 mana, clears a space to put a tower, and gives you 100 gold.
sorry to double post this but im sitting at lvl 24 with map 9, 11 - 13 at excellent rating and map 14 and 15 at good.
lvl 24 with full points in gold vault, cut down study, mining, cut down mastery, mana stock, mana pool, soul vault, mind control, lich king, ice mastery, basic training, and return portal.
3 points in bounty hunting, meteor study and meteor mastery and 2 points in mana extraction.
start of a map, use cut down twice, which gives you enough money to buy 5 crypts.
The ninja boss in level 14 has more hp than you can nuke away with fully charged mana and a fully upgraded meteor spell.
Getting a perfect score on that map really, really depends on having a temple as the first thing to hit that boss and getting lucky on the freeze/fear effect. No freeze/fear means the boss will get to your gems no matter what you do. For every other ninja in the game, meteor will work.

i was gonna say something about that, having just slaughtered that ninja boss with my swarm of crypts, but then i noticed you said getting lucky on the freeze.
I said it in other thread before the boss ninja isn't that hard to kill if you have area attack temple in the front. The single hit damage will be enough for taking out enough health you can finish it with spell.
