well with dead rising nice dawn of dead feel left 4 dead has the way you can play infected and resi has the realistic guns id say l4d probs like them all
Resident Evil has six main story games (0,1,2,3,code veronica X,4, and 5) plus 3 or 4 side story games (out break files 1 and 2, i know there was one FPS one, i think it was called survivor, and someone told me there was another but i haven't seen it) plus two arcade style games (Umbrella cronciles and the one that goes through RE2 and Code X, can't remember what it's called now :/) Plus each game has it's own thing that you hate to come across (ex. crimson heads in RE1 or leach creatures in RE0)
Left 4 Dead has L4D1 and L4D2 which, in my opinion, were released way to close to each other. Now L4D3 and 4 are being made. The game play is amazing though and the story line is really good.

IMHO. All of those games are freakin awsome. But its different tastes, Ya know? If I want more tactical gameplay with friends I play Left4Dead2 but if I want pure zombie carnage I play dead rising. Resident evil is more of a thinking game and thats what you want if you feel like being smart
