What's up everyone. I decided to make this guide for everyone interested and/or stuck doing Spec Ops. I also thought it would be easiest for PS3 members who are dedicated to this forum to check it out instead of searching for another help thread on each individual Spec Ops mission. Please note the following: 1) You need to play on Veteran to earn all 69 stars 2) My "Veteran Advice" comes from playing with a Co-Op Partner and IS different from the video guides 3) Not all of the video guides are played on Veteran difficulty or in Co-Op so use them only as a road map 4) If your looking for a Co-Op partner, check out Vanthems 'MW2 Spec Ops Player List' thread. So there you go. Hope this helps!
ALPHA MISSIONS
1) The Pitt Objective: Clear all of the enemy targets as fast as possible. Shooting civilians will prevent you from getting 3 stars. * Complete the course ** Under 45 seconds *** Under 35 seconds Veteran Advice: Keep moving forward while you shoot. Pistols are the easiest to complete this with, so equip two of them. Practice using one bullet for each target. If your doing this in two player Co-Op, split up and have one cover the left, the other on the right. Veteran Difficulty: Very Easy
Link (Shows it in over 30 seconds by 1, keep practicing and you'll get under 30 easily)
2) Sniper Fi Objective: Use sniper rifles, claymores and Predator Drones to hold off waves of enemies. * 3 Waves of infantry, 1 Jeep, 1 Truck ** 4 Waves of infantry, 2 Jeeps, 1 Truck *** 5 Waves of infantry, 3 Jeeps, 2 Trucks Veteran Advice: Use your sniper rifle and remember to set claymores in front of both ladders. You'll soon find that the only place that is a big threat to you is the West side rooftop, so if your doing this in Co-Op, have one player focused on the left side at all times. Veteran Difficulty: Easy Link
III) O Cristo Redentor Objective: Hunt down an eliminate the Favela gang. Minimize civilian casualties. * 30 Enemies, 6 Civilian casualties maximum. ** 40 Enemies and Dogs, 4 Civilian casualties. *** 50 Enemies and Dogs, 3 Civilian casualties. Veteran Advice: Basically just stick together. If your playing this solo, focus on one ally at a time. If your playing in Co-Op, do the same but have each player looking in opposite directions, as enemies do flank you. If you do decided to split up, make sure your in a decent amount of distance from each other in case you need to revive a fallen teammate. Veteran Difficulty: Easy Link
IV) Evasion Objective: Use silenced sniper rifles and cunning to slip past the enemy patrols. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Tips: Actually very easy. Do not shoot the first group of 4-5 + Dog that walk by you and hug the right side on the edge of the map. Easiest if you travel prone and take cover in bushes. As you move up the middle you'll run into a group of 2. Shoot them both but quickly. Rinse and repeat until you come to the section where your path splits in two, you'll see a group of five to your left, split up. Have one person aim at a group of two, the other at three and take them out together. Move towards the extract and you'll see two more people. Again, shoot quickly. Veteran Difficulty: Easy Link
V) Suspension Objective: Push through the invading forces on the bridge to reach the safe zone. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Advice: Just split in two watching the left and right side. Obviously use the cars in front of you as cover. The hardest part comes when the helicopter shows up. Use an RPG to take it down. After that your in the clear. Veteran Difficulty: Easy Link
BRAVO MISSIONS
I) Overwatch Objective: Rain death from above using an AC-130 gunship to protect your partner. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Advice: This pretty much falls completely on the gunner. Make sure you switch between all weapon types in the AC-130, especially if you start falling behind your enemies. It might take one or two tries, but eventually you'll see where exactly your enemies are coming from and it will make the level much easier. Watch out for the 3 helicopters that fly in to drop extra enemies off and also keep in mind the mission is timed, so keep moving up as fast as you can. Veteran Difficulty: Easy Video (Video shows the running viewpoint) Video (Video shows AC-130 viewpoint)
II) Body Count Objective: Rack up a large enough body count. Quick kills earn larger bonuses. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Advice: You get a bonus for quick kills, but time doesn't matter, so be patient. In the back of a building is a dumpster that you can take cover behind. If you stay here, you'll be able to snipe the windows of the diner across the street. The only part you have to worry about is getting shot by a close range enemy coming from inside the building, which rarely happens. Veteran Difficulty: Moderate (Only because of gun skill needed) Video
III) Bomb Squad Objective: Race through the Favela marketplace defusing the explosives before its too late. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Advice: Stay together and take one path at a time. If you do this and work as a team, you'll have more than enough time to reach all explosives. Personally, in my run through we went far right first. Veteran Difficulty: Moderate Video
IV) Race Objective: Speed your snowmobile down the mountain, dodging trees, rocks and thousand foot drops * Finish in 2 minutes. ** Finish in 90 seconds. *** Finish in 70 seconds. Veteran Advice: Do zero shooting. You don't need to. All thats left is finding the quickest route to your destination. I suggest not going off any jumps to maintain maximum speed and never fully break during turns just double tap R1 to let off some gas. Very easy once you figure out where to go. Veteran Difficulty: Easy
Video V) Big Brother Objective: Explosive ammunition, Vulcan Minigun, Blackhawk Helicopter. Clear the way. * Regular ** Hardened *** Veteran Veteran Advice: Biggest thing is to just be accurate. If you fail, you'll soon see where enemies spawn and which ones you have to take out first. There's also one section where you can shoot two cargo vehicles with enemies inside before they make it to the diner. That's the biggest thing you need to focus on. The mission is timed, but you'll have plenty of time to take cover as the runner, and give your helicopter gunner enough time to take out the foot soldiers. I also found it easier if the runner moves to the far right to the burger joint first, then up the side of the taco joint, then to the diner. Veteran Difficulty: Moderate Video (Video shown as the Gunner) Video (Video shown as the Runner) [Video Broken, finding new]
