A sad newsflash reached my mailbox Sunday... Ronald James Padavona, better known as Ronny James Dio, the "Godfather of Metal" and the creator/promoter of the world wide known "Devil's Horns" or 'Metal Salute', a sign we all know and cherish... died at the age of 67, after a short one year fight against stomach cancer...
This shocking, but somehow anticipated upon, news has struck me like a bolt of lightning, since the "Godfather of Metal" truly was a one of a kind performer and his passing weighs heavy on the Metal and Rock loving community...
I opened up this thread for the Metal and Rock fans in the AG community to have a place to vent their thoughts about this remarcable personality and groundlayers of the Metal and Rock music foundation, upon which our present music is built over the years...
Heard some additional news to the tour of 'Heaven and Hell'... They will be continuing their tour (at least on several festivals) to bring a salute to Ronnie!
Seems the best thing to do here in his honoring... =)
