What is Evil? is there such thing? is there even a good or a bad, a light and a dark. Does evil describe, or does evil exist? What can be classified as evil? Is evil truly wrong other than the fact that it hurts others? is evil a mindset, or a noun? is it even there? describe evil, talk about it.

Evil is the violation of some standards, moral or ethical. Evil is an immoral action.

There is no such thing as evil. It is simply the absence of good. Such as darkness. There is no such thing as darkness. It is simply a present status void of light.

There is no evil, there is no good. Only the choices we make, and consequences.

And what of the consequences? What if the consequences are either evil or good?

the consequences of your actions are not good or evl, they are mere consequences. a consequence is an effect. an effect is not alive... can something not alive be evil?

Many people would disagree. Evil choices made by evil people have evil consequences.

There is no such thing as right or wrong. Only consequences.
I don't think humans are capable of being consciously evil, or evil at all. If you do something that hurt someone else, you will always have a "logical" reason for doing so. No matter how stupid, mean or simply malevolent it was, at the point where you did it, or before doing it, you would have told yourself that it was okay to do it. That it was the best for you/your family and friends/the greater good.
Other people might dub you as evil or the son of Satan or whatever, but the truth is, they are not aware of your (wicked) reasoning, thus simply not understanding you.
I think, what matters most is that you are able to learn from it, and alter your next choice in a way that does not hurt anyone. Stop yourself before the "logic" of instinct rises.

Further more, as someone mentioned, the concept of evil is often considered rule breaks, breaks with moral, taboo, norms of society. If something doesn't fit the standard of the group, it can be considered evil to some.
Humans have never been good at differences.

Isn't it evil when someone purposely hurts others for no reason then to see them hurt? There are a lot of people like that out there.

Psychopaths?* Probably. But again, if their reasoning is that it is fun to see them be hurt, or that they deserve to be hurt, then in their mind, they are no more evil than you and I. It just differs from the angle and the persons seeing it.
Let's take a regular example.
It is wrong to kill other people.
It is wrong to kill [ethnic] people.
It is wrong to kill people who cannot defend themselves.
It is wrong to kill people unless you are at war.
It is wrong to kill people unless you have to survive.
It is wrong to kill people unless they are trespassing.
It is wrong to kill people if they are beautiful.
It is wrong to kill people if they are in your family.
And so on. As mentioned, humans have never been good at setting aside differences. We are a social animal that works in groups, and to survive we set up standards in our group that might differ from other groups. There might be some totally whacked people around, yes, but they will most likely not feel remorse in what they do, if they have justified it to themselves. And if it has been justified, it is not evil.
Just evil by your standards.

*Considering psychopaths are unable to read emotions and non-verbal communication, some might enjoy to see other suffer. I still believe it is justified somehow by themselves. That it is fun to look at. That it makes them the dominant one. Whatever.

What about the psychopaths that admit that they're evil and that they enjoy being evil? What are they?
