Before you think this is in a wrong place read this before anything else. If you haven't watched this, It might spoil some stuff for you so if you don't wanna know then don't read this and get.
Ok here it goes. The Earth as a special planet that can keep a lot of types of species? Do you think this is true? do you think that our earth is really like this, because the Clatu the character had said humans are destroying the planet and we have to change. Do you believe this, do you think people are changing for the better?
Science can replace "nature". Machines can improve upon what was needed within a hundred years, and if not farms would be more effective then what is now. It will be far improve in the future, and the only thing special about it was a stroke of luck allowing life to form and be sustained. Mars may have been the same if it had a better atmosphere.
We just created the very first cell with artificial DNA. It will take thousand of years before our technology can overtake the beauty and brilliance of nature.

It's the only one we know of so far.

We need to understand that we don't own the Earth. We need to reach a balance and harmony between man and nature.

I am referring to artificial, metal, improvements to nature. Artificial glucose can both feed and provide oxygen for us. Cloning or nutrient pills can provide for nutrients other then those found in glucose. Everything can be improved, care to give an example otherwise?
It would seem that you want to take the humanity out of humans. Also biosphere 2 was an epic failure; I had to write a report on the subject of vertical farming and came across it as a way to not do things. Also it didn't simulate a biosphere even 0.001% as complex as Earth's.
And yes science can most likely solve the problem of global warming as long as pollution is quickly dealt with and reduced.
Yes but the world get hotter and hotter. how do you think science is gonna help when everything burns to a crisp?
Crop dusting chemicals into the atmosphere, living inside, creating a better atmosphere...

That is only a secondary goal. What is wrong with improvements?
And yes, it was, but biosphere 200 may not be. Its just a stepping stone.
