That channel is not properly named anymore... my suggestion is the "The Mike Rowe and Mythbuster Channel" kinda long, but I think it is catchy. About 80% of the content if the channel is already suggesting the name change.
What's the point in changing the name? Discovery channel is a good name, and mike rowe and Mythbusters are FAR from 80% of all the shows. Besides, they're on that much because they're popular. But they never take more than 1-2 hours long. So I don't get your problem here?
Yeah, seriously. They would have to go through way to much trouble to change their name with all the re-doing of commercials, ads, and numerous products, just so an angry forum poster can be happy. I think that they will probably say no.
Personally I think that they did a really great job on the name... it's already a 'brand' nowadays!
If you say 'Discovery' to someone, 99 out of a 100 people think you're talking about 'Discovery Channel' immediately! So there's nothing wrong with it, in fact... it's great marketing! =D
Besides... if you hate all the re-runs and same-sorted programms they broadcast, why not contact them and ask for more diversity?! =P
Simply go to Discovery Online and ask them! They even have a separate link for questions or comments related to their programming and all other TV questions! You can contact them about it through their Viewer Relations department.
