So far issues in South Africa have been very limited. There are have been some problems such as the shooting after the Algeria/Egypt match; but is there a true threat to our nations players and the 700 other players from the rest of the nations? I think there is, Africa is an unstable Continent a big win or loss could trigger something very violent. Of Course, there could also be much good, for example, a couple African nations ended their long civil wars for the World Cup but lets face it, was it really a good idea to have such a high standing fixture in South Africa (a known unstable country)?
I think that it could be both a good and bad idea because South Africa is a nice country if you look at scenery but it's terrible when it comes to politics... they settle things by shooting their competition, or buying voter's votes.
I think it is a good idea. Especially after South Africa scored the first goal. It will unite South Africa's people and bring tourism and money to the somewhat poverish country.
Well, setting the games in South Africa probably has it's good and bad points, so let's not base our opinions off of one issue (not saying that anyone is, of course). I'm not big on the sports side of the debate, that's not my gig, but I think South Africa could really use the attention. I think the games might set in motion a series of events that will lead to good things for them.
i dont understand you leo lol are you supporting south africa or not cause if not then that ad isnt helping you out alot
Sorry I was laughing pretty hard.
Anyways, you think FIFA would of thought of this. Basically the ad is saying what the hell is your problem, who is stupid enough to try something and even if they did they wouldn't get very far.
The ad is also saying they do this to all the countries. And they have. And will continue to do. So basically FIFA is saying.
There are many good and bad things. For example it'll bring money into the country. However, it will also take alot of money to build and organize. The politics (e.g. civil wars, tribal wars, racial violence, etc.) has been hugely decreased into a less violent affair. Again however, the few conflicts that are still going on are affecting the tourists and the media in South Africa (e.g. robberies, etc.) The role of South Africa, and Africa itself on the international stage will hopefully improve by this big event.
