If you jail broke your ipod touch, i have a few questions to ask for ya!
1) Why did you jail break it?
2) How long did you use the ipod before you jail broke it?
3) Ever had your ipod crash?
4) Scale from not a good idea(1) to DO IT RIGHT NOW!(10)

NOTE: I can't remember if it was against the forum rules to post how to do something such as this (something considered "illegal&quot. So please do not post how to jail break it, or links to how to jail break it (since if people are that interested in doing it they can easily search the internet for it)

Thank-You

----I personally have not J.B. my Ipod Touch as of yet, and have not planned on doing so. I am just curious of how many people have done this and why they would do it.

you can get free apps, and stuff, but if it fails, or breaks, apple wont fix it. If your allright with the odds of ending up with a $200 paper weight, I say do it.

It's easy to do if you KNOW what your doing.

Why would apple fix something that lets people get free apps?

You are not to post HOW to do it, no.

And, I wouldn't know, I don't have an Ipod. Or any other items made by Apple.
Also, how absolutely stupid they might be about their permission, that is how you run business.

Cenere, i did not think you were that is why i put the note in

and MrBoss...way to completely ignore the note and the post above you haha..

My friend Jail broke his ipod, and like the ability to change the background and like run multiple apps was pretty cool, but then something happened and he had to reset his ipod or something.

1) Why did you jail break it?

Curious.

2) How long did you use the ipod before you jail broke it?

A week

3) Ever had your ipod crash?

It would not connect with iTunes after doing it.

4) Scale from not a good idea(1) to DO IT RIGHT NOW!(10)

This can be considered an illegal activity since you download cracked apps from 3rd party sites. Just because it's free, doesn't mean it's legal. I'd rather be safe with a 200-400$ item.

Jailbreaking itself is not illegal and where did downloading cracked apps come from anyway?

Depends on the person.

Finally someone I can agree with here, thank you Graham. The one time I had an iPod, I jail-broke it, only to have it slip out of my pocket and fall down the stairs the next day.

I didn't bother to get a new one and simply went back to my old mp3 player for music.

Right, but to download any apps is. Which makes jailbreaking useless if you don't.

The program blackra1n to jailbreak your ipod comes with an app called (if i remember right) Cydia that offers cracked apps for free. Cracked apps are apps that have been hacked in and modified to be free, IE the price has been broken off.

Apple has argued that jailbreaking constitutes copyright infringement and a DMCA violation, and is therefore illegal. The company claims that jailbroken iPhones depend on modified versions of Appleâs copyrighted bootloader and operating system software, and that these more open versions compromise safety, security, and reliability, along with making it easier for users who wish to pirate software.
