This doesnt seem to be a topic of debate as much as one of fact.
How dosent it matter who your parents are? I mean they rase you and they teach you their ideology etc. Ofcourse it matters... Some kids exept it others do just the oposite...
I think she was saying that just because your parents are something, doesnt mean that you are. There are generally two extremes to this when it comes to parental guidance. You either see what your parents believe in and what theyve become, and aspire to be that so you follow them, or you dont respect or want to be like that and you do the opposite. You can obviously pick and choose... but in general, just because his father is of one religion does not mean at all that he has to be.
I can't add much else to what everyone else has said. I did notice this:
I respect my parents and what ever they tell me...
It isn't healthy to merely accept what someone tells you. I am not saying that you should disrespect your parents, but just because they are your parents does not necessarily mean they are always right. In fact, I remember when my mother was the age that I am at now and I can tell you that my ideologies are still (very much) a work in progress.
I don't see why any of us would know whether he is christian (as he claims), or Islamic. Either way i still don't like him...he's far too liberal, which is almost the exact opposite of my favored type, conservative. So whether he's Islamic or not, it doesn't matter. He's still a liberal in my eyes.
