There faster than most drummers and actually sound good.
there not faster then msot drummers. mike portnoy is faster then pretty much all the other death metal drummers (except for joey jordenson of course)
then theres mike mangini who isnt even in a band in fact hes a teacher and hell lol hes the fastest drummer in the world right now.
then theres travis barker who is also faster, michael giles is faster and hes not a death metal drummer.
see the mis conception is the way they play makes them sound faster.
its kinda hard to explain but when death metal drummers play drum fills they play 16'th notes on the bass and play the toms going down on the 1-e the 2-e the 3-e and so on on each measure. so it makes the illusion that theyre playing very fast when really theyre jsut doing basics.
every drummer does it but that doesnt make them faster
