It works. Hold down the shift key and ~ at the same time. I was expecting a box to pop up where I could type in the word hero but nothing popped up so I thought it wasn't working. I typed in the word hero anyways just to see if it would work and it did.

im love cheats cause after i finish a game by myself i use cheats to enjoy the things i liked most ^-^

I have an azerty and it worked in the credits section by typing '~hero'
'~': ctrl+alt+'='

Another method(if you have an azerty): press alt+shift (this switches your keyboard to qwerty mode), then press shift+ key left to 1, followed by 'hero'
after you inserted the code, press alt+shift again to switch back to normal azerty mode

~hero is the cheat
but the ~ wont pop in the cheat thing but you need it to activate the cheat
