Hey guys who here knows about this game? It comes from a polish studio and is in development right now, but it is gonna rock! You play the part of Gerald of Riva, who is a witcher and it is kind of an action RPG thing. When I get my new PC I'm so gonna get the game! Check out a trailer on YouTube
I've heard good things about the Witcher, can you briefly give me a little review? Might be worth getting for my birthday, and then later I may be able to discuss the sequel with you.
Well, The Witcher (First one) is basically a story based on novels about this guy who lived in a castle and his name was Geralt of Riva. He is attacked and has to escape with his student (I think) and during the course of his adventure he reveals a plot to kill the King and other assasinations. You get to know some assasin who is probably the main enemy in the second one. One of the most important aspects of the game is the consequences of your actions, for everything you do can 2 hours later turn out really really bad or vice versa. They will do that in the second one too and you can load your Witcher 1 savegame so that some actions even have consequences in the second one. You always have more than one possibility to finish your quest and you have to choose the way. The producers made an enhanced version of the game which fixed a whole lot of problems and improved the graphics, as well as adding more character models to the game. The developers are tentacle studios.
OK, so plot and savegame transferring aside, how good are the actual gameplay elements? It looked very Assassins' Creed (slow motion moves), does that slow down combat much? How many quests approximately would you say there are? Stuff like that, I'm starting to like the look of the game.
