bassically the you guys just post what country youre from and youre some of youre favorite bands from a country different from yours. discussion recomended
ill start. im from USA and one of my favorite bands from a different country is a band called bloc party, who are massivley big in england.
i heard about these guys from a friend then i saw the song on guitar hero and got into them from there. i love every single song by them. i only wish they were bigger in the states cause they rule soooo much
I'm from the USA, but I usually listen to a lot of foreign bands. Some of my favorites are Nightwish from Finland, Eisbrecher from Germany and VNV Nation from the UK/Ireland.
Nightwish is listed as symphonic metal and their songs are absolutely beautiful(even more so if you listen to the Finnish versions, even if you don't understand). I found them through watching videos that had one of their songs as the background music. I love all their songs, though I am a bit more biased towards the old with their former singer. I think they're great despite getting a lot of heat about not being "truly metal."
I really like Eisbrecher too, though I'm not entirely fluent in German I still find their songs to have a good beat. And by entirely fluent, I mean the friend who introduced them to me also introduced me to the German language :P.
And finally, VNV Nation also has good music... though it is a bit cheesy, I also like their attitude in general. VNV stands for Victory, not Vengeance and their motto is "One should strive to achieve; not sit in bitter regret."
Anyway, those are just some of mine... a bit odd, but ya can't help what ya like I suppose. I'll check out the bands you guys listed after I catch up on some sleep, and hopefully have some new songs to add to my library!
Heh, I only listen to 2 bands who are from my country. I'm dutch, and I only listen to within temptation and the Heideroosjes. I pretty much only listen to foreign bands (I hate dutch lyrics, which is the main reason why). My favorite foreign bands are Rise against (USA), 30 seconds to mars (USA), Senses fail (USA?), Dream Theather (USA) and Funeral for a friend (Wales, UK).
I'm from the us but there are a ton of foreign bands I listen to Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Exumer, Artilley, Mercyful Fate, Motorhead, Coroner, Celtic Frost, Accept, Helloween, Angel Witch, Raven and many more.
