I just saw the new Xbox design at the Microsoft Xbox briefing from 1:30-3:00 p.m. If any one else has seen it yet, do you think that it is a good thing? It has a 250 gigabyte hard drive, and the most powerful built in wifi, and they said it is very quiet now.

Actually microsoft has a different chip implanted in it so that it doesnt melt like the other one did. It's a Valhalla chip or something like that.

Anything can melt, nothing is absolutely heat resistant. The new chips are a few nanometres smaller, as I said, which helps the speed of processing. Even if the chips can not melt, any other bit of hardware could melt, break, collapse, you name it.

Here's a question: was the loudness an actual issue with the fans (even brand new) or was it simply people's negligence towards cleaning the fan?

Nope... deffo the fans in the ol xbox being too noisy. And when its running a disk... whoa! stand back for take off.

Its quiet. I dont care how it looks.

The big question is...

Will this sucker break down after 3 years.

Yeah, I got my xbox for Christmas...and then not a few months later they come out with this. So now we have to pay 100 bucks for a wireless connecter when WiFi is built in. I'm a little frustrated, sorry :P

PS3 > Xbox anyways. Bwa ha.

Agreed.
I honestly am not a fan of Xbox, when i got it, RROD's poured in like rain, i got over 15 RROD's in less then a week. But sure, this design looks promising but I doubt the RROD will be gone

that thing is going to be huge cause needs a more powerful processor and a graphic chip that can process DirectX11, and the cooling... lets see what they work
