Im 14 years old and now first time in my life I saw (and meet) an black man who is not gipsy (afro american) It may sound odd to you but I have only seen a turist few times in my life in my country, what do you think
It's a double standard, you don't call a Hispanic person of Mexican descent a Mexican American, especially when you're born in country...
You do, but people don't because Latino/Hispanic is the preferred term.
Afro-American isn't a racist term, but has been replaced by African-American somewhat.
The first time I ever saw someone of African descent was when I was pretty young. Now it's kinda shocking seeing white people. Not because of culture shock, but because it's just so strange actually seeing them. I was living for so many years without seeing people of Caucasian descent.
Political correctness makes my head explode with epic fail.
That, and the word just doesn't make any sense. I want to meet the idiot who came up with it so I can slap him.
Anyways, when it comes to things like this, calling anything something annoyingly political correct doesn't make any sense. It just falls out of place.
It falls out of place everywhere, but especially in any kind of casual discussion.
PC? Never really associated that word with political correctness.
As for the idiot who came up with that word.. well I don't know why in America, the term Caucasian is used to refer to whites, when the term itself refers to a wide range of racial groups.
