What in God's name is the point of Loved? I mean obviously the game standpoint is beat it and reach the end but is it supposed to be like some kind of religious thing, the voice being God who loved you no matter what you did? I don't get the meaning behind it one bit.
First of all the voice can be anybody in your life. Usually somebody that is in an abusive relationship with you. When you obey the voice, everything is clear, you understand what you see. But your life is boring, colorless. When you disobey the voice, everything is colorful and different. But you can't clearly see everything. You don't understand. When you do as you are told life is long, and easy. It is also boring. When you disobey, life is fun, and exciting. It is also short. Usually the greatest path is somewhere in the middle. Sometimes you should do what the voice tells you. An example is when it tells you not to fail, or jump over the barbs. Sometimes the voice tells you to do something that seems wrong, maybe for its amusement. Examples are when it tells you to jump into the barbs, and use the lower path. (Which is harder.) Hopefully this clears up some questions. If not you can message me.
if you deny everything then it becomes pixelated and glitchy and he yells at you and once you reach the part where you drop down the game just ends. but if you follow all the instrutions then after you fall the voice congratulates you and then there is this black mario-style coin and if you touch it the game ends. and if you go past it there's just a wall
Definitely a thought provoking game. It was very simplistic in it's premise and composition but it has inspired a lot of debate, this thread being a case in point.
Personally I garnered about the same impression of it as d_dude, although it is open to interpretation in many other ways. If you haven't played it recommend you do so, and play through several times, and make different choices each time.
