Hmmm, I've seen the title Brink around a lot but sort of ignored it. Now that I've looked into it, I think it could be quite impressive.
From various early-on screen shots I'm a bit worried about the graphics which seem to take on a slightly Borderlands-comic-book feel, I personally found that style inventive, but not very nice. I can't really judge the details of combat from previews this early on, but the RPG elements look interesting. The way you unlock skills whilst also being able to buy various skills I think will be good, customisation affecting game play has always been a good feature too and some of the skill ideas will definitely be fun to play with.
However, when we see Fallout once again becoming an FPS/RPG hybrid produced by a large number of original Black Isle employees, incorporating first-person-shooter-like combat at the same time as allowing for full party control (as opposed to AI you saw in your companions in Fallout 3) will be bloody brilliant. I also believe now that they've seen the success with Bethesda's skill and attributes and Black Isle's own RPG-genius, the RPG elements of this game will be equally awesome.
Got to say, I'll definitely be buying Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition.
So I'd choose Fallout New Vegas, I'm probably being a bit biased and I also don't believe there's enough information (or history) in a game like Brink to determine its quality upon release.
I have Fallout 3, did everything in it. I wasnt too big of a fan of it, and to tell the truth, i really dont have any urge to play it. One turn down for me is that it has a set ending, thats no treally bad though, but i just prefer free roam games to never end, and use my imagination to decide what my character does after i get don playing him. Brink looks good, i watched all the demos at E3 and gameplay, TONSSSSS of custimization. Unfortunately if i am ever going to FPS online again it will be when Halo Reach comes out. I cant even playonline xbawks or whatever right now cuz my freakin router broke, but thats another story
I must say that I am very excited for Fallout: New Vegas, especially with the original Fallout team from Black Isle returning to the design of their original IP, although Bethesda has a strong hand in Brink and I think they did a fantastic job with Fallout 3.
Fallout: New Vegas seems to have a much more open area with more option than we saw in Fallout 3 so I'm looking forward to see how that translates into a more immersive story and game. Also controlling your party's tactics and actions will be a welcome change from the relatively poor AI I had to put up with in Fallout 3.
Brink looks like another great FPS with all the elements of RPGs that I love, immersive storyline, massive customization options, and multiple options throughout the story. My primary concern there is that I am one of the few that doesn't play console games online and I have seen that many of the FPS games that have integrated online play have lost much of their appeal for my as a stand alone console game, so I'm interested to see how Brink makes it all come together.
Based on all that i have seen and read regarding both games I am going to give the nod to Fallout: New Vegas for the win.
