Some say the Gov. is there to help the people, others that it isn't meant to help but merely to protect and watch over, what do you think?

Still didn't answer my question.

Answer me for the USSR.

And I never said anything about political ideologues. Someone scapegoating? This is about big vs. small government.

I don't understand what you mean.

The free market, to most who don't have a degree in finances, would look very chaotic and disorganized, while this is not the case. It just as, if not more, organized as the government. Except replace the free market with international affairs and corporations with the government. Same, exactly.

Humans will always make mistakes. Humans with the power over peoples very existence make the biggest mistakes.

The more organized something is, the better it is, no?

Ask again.

The USSR had a massive government. Why isn't it still around in place of America?

Not correct. While organization is excellent, it is only useful to a point. It can become its own enemy if it becomes too organized, become predictable. With organization comes predictability, and if a tyrannical madman can predict anything movements into the foreseeable future, he can gain control of the government.

Let me make this analogy. For life to exist on other planets, one requirement is the size of the planet and its ability to sustain an atmosphere. With a planet too small, gravity cannot keep the atmosphere from remaining. If it is too big, it crushes the planet.

The same applies with government.

Ask again.

Can you name one country that has a small government and is a major world power?

The USSR was communist, not only that, it had corruption. Stalin was the main reason, while Trotsky believed in a more ideal communist country. I suggest you read Animal Farm to understand what happened there.

Our government now is predictable. Elections every 4 years. Congress will continue to make laws. It doesn't take a psychic to predict those things.

Think of the people as the people. Think as the government as the army protecting them from foreign and domestic attacks. The larger the army, the better they will fend off the attacks.

Conflicting analogies, both true. Big armies usually win, no? But small planets are ideal for life. Both true.

America. Our government is smaller than most, and individual states can have extremely small governments. We're the most powerful country on earth.

Answer your question?

It was corrupt. It still had a massive government. All countries with massive governments are corrupt.

I'm not reading a fiction book to get an understanding of reality, I'm sorry.

That's not what I meant by predictable. Those things are everywhere there isn't total anarchy.

What I meant was, if things become so organized, even the elections themselves are rigged, anyone with a little bit of money can go straight to the top.

America is a disorganized organization. Doesn't make sense? Well, it's kind of like a room. You can find things easily, but only you know where they are. To everyone else, it's a mess, but to you, it's perfect. Replace you with the government, and you have the US government.

That's what all governments do. Rather, that's what their defense system does. All countries in history that have had little or no army, have gotten annihilated. All countries nowadays learned from that, and have substantial armies.

Big armies usually win, no?

In battle, but when they come home, if they are too big, they run out of control. Higher ups can't control them.

The planet argument works the best. The government can be big, and provide a dense atmosphere, but if it gets too big, it kills itself. If it's too small, it can't hold the atmosphere together. Trade atmosphere with people, and planet with government.

As a side note, the planet can be big, but not too big. The smaller, the better for comfortable life, but too small, and life cannot exist.

Name another. America is debatable.

It was corrupt. It still had a massive government. All countries with massive governments are corrupt.

Germany, France, England, Spain, Belgium. 5:1. Large governments. Not Communist.

The book is criticism of Stalin. Read that, and understand it.

I don't understand. Elections become rigged when the successors already have enormous power already.

Are you saying that it's based on secrets?

Thanks for understanding my point.

In battle, but when they come home, if they are too big, they run out of control. Higher ups can't control them.

I'm talking about when the FIGHT. You are missing the point. That statement is totally idiotic. I can't even understand how you manage to even bring that up. It is totally irrelevant.

The planet argument works the best. The government can be big, and provide a dense atmosphere, but if it gets too big, it kills itself. If it's too small, it can't hold the atmosphere together. Trade atmosphere with people, and planet with government.

My point is that both are correct. They also conflict.

The government is to protect the people, not take over everything that the people need. Keep the people safe, is their purpose. They tax us for their service, and are supposed to do nothing else.
