yeah we are allowed! everyone has links in there about. i suggest making the link in the community with the link button. and then pasting it into your about. (thats how i do it anyway...)
Links aren't HTML, XVERB, that's bbcode; There was another thread about this, I'll see if I can dig it up before someone else does or someone states a better answer.
