Making this to pass on some hints that may help and to pick up some hints that may help me.

My biggest hint is...

Use the ghost crypts at the front and upgrade them to the fear class tower. This helps amazingly against cloaked guys and those pesky sword dudes. Multiple Crypts is essential to get the best medal for a level.

You want them at the front because the crypts will hit first and all the shots will hit the cloaked guys and will have a large chance of fearing the sword guys.

Remember your towers get exp if they fire... not if they hit. So 5 crypts that fire 5 shots at the first dude will ALL get exp.

Thats my 2 pence.

Any other tactics are very welkomme

Also I find that using the Cut Out spell to open a spot or two near the entry section of any level with an Orc hut there helps to trigger any ninja smoke bombs thus giving them time to wear off closer to the main brunt of your defences.

For those annoying ninja bosses, put upgrade points into meteor cost, meteor damage and mana pool (in roughly that order). With all three fully upgraded, you can nuke just about any boss if you start the fight at full mana.

The only one this doesn't work on is the final boss on level 14...he's got enough HP to survive five fully upgraded (400 damage) meteors, and fast enough to get to your gems, take one and be halfway back to the exit by the time his smoke bomb wears off. Your only hope of getting a 'Brilliant' score on that level is hitting him with a (fully upgraded would be ideal) Chilling Crypt and hope that either the fear or the freeze effect (from the upgrade tree) hit. If that happens, you have a shot, but it'll still take the full 500 mana to get him.

It seems to me that all the other towers pale in comparison to the fear crypts. First max the demon talent that increases your exp gain, to get those crypts leveled up faster.

Well, all the towers have their uses. Dens have the highest damage output, especially when you level them into Hunter's Dens and upgrade the critical hit chance. Temples can either add a very useful debuff (Evil Eye Temple) or do incredible amounts of damage over a large area (Burning Temple). Due to their short range, though, proper placement is everything for them.

The only towers I never use are Ballista Den and Ghost Crypt...the Ballista is too inaccurate and slow to be much use (by the time the shot arrives, many targets will be long gone), while the Hunter's Den is reliable, fast-firing, and will frequently insta-kill its target. As for the Crypt...well, aside from the fact that the Chilling Crypt has the single most useful secondary effect in the game, mana income just shouldn't be a real issue anyway once you have gained a few levels.

Yes, the Crypts are by far the most useful tower. Their upgrades can be really helpful in the final levels. I agree with GaldirEonai, the Ballista Den is pretty horrible. It's slow to reload, and the damage that is does is not worth the slow reload time.

Yeah, if I'm looking for high damage output an orc Den or area of effect Temple is probably the best choice. But the damage output from crypts isn't too shabby either.

It irks me when I have a bunch of crypts with the collected charges, but they all fire their charges at the same monster and the other ones sneak by. That's the only reason why I don't use crypts exclusively.

The ballista den becomes worth it once you get catapult, though, because having three shots gets rid of the accuracy problem, and the damage is also enough to outright kill most monsters. If a hero is hit by all three, it can almost kill it on one shot. Place th ballistae at the mouth of a long corridor and they'll fire forward and always get a hit. But hunters' dens are still more important overall.

The dens are the best tower, because fully upgraded, they have the best damage output, the continuous damage from temples, and the best DPS and accuracy.

Crypts and temples are both really situational - you need crypts with the fear effect set up so they'll have a lot of range and be able to hit heroes and ninjas easily, and the temples have to be set up on an 'island' for AoE, or on corners for the beam to work.

Just take the time to lv one section. if you try to spread your points out leveling different things in different sections. it will ultimately take you longer to progress through the game.

dont group all your crypts/ towers. especially for the inviible smoke bombers, (?), what happens to me is they all launch and only hit 1 person with 1 orb before it disappears. after that, all those other orbs disappear unless theres another target, which there usually arent any. needs to be fixed or something >.<

Yeah, when I first started playing I was grouping together my crypts. It seems okay for the first few levels, but when the ninjas start coming along you really have to spread your towers out.

If your worried about passing a level, not the medal.

Hahaha, true. It's easy to panic when enemies get close to your gems, and occasionally I'll freak out and launch a meteor at this single target.
