7 days to the 4th what kind of fireworks do you guys like? I like fountains and bottle rockets. What is your favorite way to launch bottle rockets (skip the question if you just like to shoot them normally)? I like to shoot them down the street on there side. Oh and don't post anything too dangerous people may do these you know. I will try for at least one new question a day.

Me and some of the guys from my VFW and the AmVets march in the 4th of July parade here, and a few of us volunteer at the fireworks displays in town helping set up equipment and providing security for the firing area so we are usually really close to the mortars they set up for the major shows.

Pfft, the 4th of July celebrations hurts my British pride. I think it should be cancelled so as not to discriminate and promote rebellion against Britain.

Run you Britishers! Redcoats, limeys, pommies and tommies! Run! Muhahahahahahahahahahahaha! *takes out rocket launcher* Back across the pond you go!

Anyway, fireworks are banned in Australia so I feel lucky being here in New Zealand. I might get my hands on fireworks for Guy Fawkes Day. Heh, celebrating the foiling a man who tried to blow up the king in parliament.

Mmm.. Fireworks.. An m80 has the power of a quarterstick of dynamite, and a compressed roman candle is supposed to have the power to flip a car

if it hurts you British pride then why did you move here you know we have it and it's a symbol of our freedom, NOW TAKE A PLANE BACK TO BRITAIN!

What the... See, now British people can actually get points across.

Heh, celebrating the foiling a man who tried to blow up the king in parliament.

For some reason I always thought of it as celebrating his attempt :\\
The Anglican church was more than corrupt enough to warrant it, as are most large authoritative assemblies/bodies/corporations/ect.

I swear to God. Once an American asked me if we Swedish have a "Fourth of July". I said: "No, we skip that date." Americans R TTLY SMRT?

I feel like such a dumbass.

@Thread

Why do you need to count down to the 4th? I think you Americans will notice when they WILL SEND FIREWORKS UP IN THE SKY!!!!

I feel like such a dumbass.

Maybe we like counting down to the fourth because we like having a celebration of independence. Why is that so hard for you Swedish to understand?

Why is that so hard for you Swedish to understand?

Because they've never lived in America or never have been American.

Uhh... No, the fourth is the day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, because it's easier to only celebrate it once, rather than for each day on which it was signed.
