So I've spent some time responding my thoughts of the current American political situation and I figure it's time to make a thread about it.
To being let's discuss my background: Three years ago when I joined this site I was a staunch conservative and patriot. Now I'm a left-leaning, anti-American, indie kid that your Republican grandfather has warned you about.
Now onto the American political system it's a system controlled by two parties who are controlled by corporations. That's it; they buy votes then try to keep you happy but as the record shows the generally public opinion is generally wrong. Presidents that the public loves turn out to be terrible and presidents that the public hated turn out to be some of America's greatest presidents.
These two parties are so corrupt that they do anything to stop the other even if they agree with what they are doing. Both parties suck; end of story. The time has come to redo the American political system with drastic measures; going as far as dismantling the two major parties and making it illegal to have less than three equal parties.
The founding fathers made it so that the parties would constantly oppose each other and there would be only two main parties.
Wrong? First off many of the founding fathers despised the idea of political parties and secondly the first parties were the Federalist and Anti-Federalist parties that can't really be related to the modern parties.
The founding fathers made it so that the parties would constantly oppose each other and there would be only two main parties.
Actually there were I believe 4 or 5 distinct political parties represented by the continental congress when the declaration of independence was drafted. no where does it say that there were to be any specific number of parties at all.
