I don't know about accurate, but realistically I think that just about any post apocalyptic theory is a feasible scenario. Humans are a rare breed in that we have the capability to utterly destroy everything AND we are stupid enough to do it.
Fallout 3 is heavily stylized to meet entertainment demand. You would be lucky to have it like Fallout.
The reality is, is that survival would have nothing to do with ghouls, raiders, or roaming robots. It would have to do with finding food that isn't so full of radiation it will kill you.
Fallout 3 would be fun. Reality would be a living hell.
basic idea of fallout 3, yes. the whole game itself, never. one idea that might actualy b carried out in he future would be all the vaults. was pretty disappointing though thall the other vaults besides vault 101, the failsafe, would eventually be abandoned/killed/ taken over by a madman cuz of vault-tec..
The game setting is 200 years after the bombing. We all know that, if there were survivor, cities could be all around. Not that weird scrap-city. Real cities, with maybe some walls like the middle ages, to keep bad stuff outside.
The main idea of Fallout is a recurring one, seen in most post-apocalyptic movies and video games (Book of Eli being extremely similar). The fact that Bethesda threw in fictitious mutations and a 1950's theme made the game playable and fun, but they also take away from the realistic sense of the Fallout Reality.
If that really is how a nuclear apocalypse would play out, God save us all from the death claws!
No, it won't be... Unless you're living in Switzerland, or a territory not affiliated with any country with nuclear weapons. You see, in case of nuclear crisis everyone will either die from all the radiation and explosions, or be completely safe because of Switzerland's HIGH amount of underground bunkers. It would take time for the nuclear fallout to go away, or it wont go away at all. I doubt in case of nuclear war America will be able to build bunkers that can house at the least 50% of its population before being nuked to hell.
I remember hearing that if all the Nukes in the world hit. Radition would leave just about the time the sun would turn into a blue dwarf.
That's incorrect. While it would take longer than all civilization has been around, it won't take that long.
The deadliest variants will be gone within about a month, with mostly alpha and beta waves remaining. There will still be some gamma radiation from the uranium, but it won't be as strong. Then will go the beta, and finally alpha. That's in order of danger.
All in all, it'll take about 30,000 years. Not very long in the history of the universe, and certainly will not have the sun as a blue dwarf. (isn't it white dwarf?)
