DId any of you see them? I missed them and I wanted to know the highlights,I heard that Chris Brown did an amazing tribute to MJ was it really that awesome. Does anybody know when they will show them again.
its not racist, you are just being ignorant, how you try being a slave and not not being accepted in your own country for the majority of time that the U.S. was a country....think about it
Well let's look at it this way. BET is owned by Viacom. Do a quick search of Viacom on google and see how many allegations of racism and illegal censorship they have against them.
Secondly, you don't know what race I am, so how arrogant of you to jump to conclusions.
Thirdly, imagine if I wanted to start White Entertainment Television. Wonder what an uproar that would cause. Or perhaps I'll found Muslim Entertainment Television. I'm sure that would go over well too.
The point I'm making is that there is a gross double standard in our nation these days and it is to the point where only certain groups have special liberties, and no one is willing to speak out about the bias and unfairness of it all.
Oh and about slavery, please. Every racial, religious, and sexual group out there has been subjected to horrible cruelty throughout history. There isn't one group that hasn't been slaves or worse at some time or another.
In fact being German/Irish my ancestors were subjected to horrible things when they got to America. My Irish ancestors were forced into the Union army upon arrival in America under threat of indentured servitude, death, or being put right back on the boat. The German part of my family arrived here in the 1930's and I've heard all the wonderful stories about how they were treated just shortly after their arrival.
But you don't hear me screaming for reparations or blaming my condition on the poor treatment of my ancestors. Partly because no one gives a shit. But if my skin were a bit darker, or had these things happened even longer ago than what did, I would get all sorts of media attention, specialized funding from the government and bias treatment.
