My favorite sword would be the Tachi. Yes, it's an unusual blade to pick but I like it. The Tachi is like a katana, though slightly more curved and it's longer. It was mainly used on horseback where it was able to be drawn efficiently for cutting down enemy foot soldiers. On ground it's still effective but...
Nice Katana when I went to Amazon.com and searched Katana sword I found I viarity of cheap swords from 10 USD to over 300 USD. I don't trust these prices (they should be at minimum 700USD) If I were to buy a sword...it wouldn't be metal (because there is a chance that I may not cut myself...)

many times people think that swordfighting is about going gung ho and swinging your sword around killing people, yes that is true, but that is only 30%. the other 70% is bonding with the sword, sharpening it, practicing with it till it becomes an extension of your body, as cheesy as it sounds, it's what everyone will tell you

haha I know that, just because I don't own a sword doesn't mean I don't use them. Although a friend of mine, he's about to begin training me in Balintawak Cuentada Arnis which is an eskrima style, however eskrima can be used interchangeably with blades so
i would have have to say after watching the most recent deadliest warrior my favorite sword would be the kenij, i think ti is how it is spelled. It has the about the same as the katana but it lighter and this is weighted at the tip so it carries a punch
