Well I guess the title says it all, I was just wondering who ya'll thought were the most active 'forumers' in this part of the AG forum. Opinions, that what this Forum is going to be, pure opinions, and yes you can say 'Me'.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is the longest (technical) English word. It means "a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, causing inflammation in the lungs."

Means... center? Heart? Home?

The Omphalos is the central part, the focal point. It's also the umbilicus (navel?).

You know what I hate? People who don't believe that they can get a lung disease by inhaling fine dust. In fact, you could say I'm a follower of antidispneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosisarianism.

Ah snap.

@knight_34

There are longer words, like the one goumas23 said.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Yeah, I think that's the longest.

Yeah, I think that's the longest.
The longest word is a protein, actually, and it's MUCH longer than the word you said.

This word has appeared in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts and is thus considered by some to be the longest real word.

Well, it's not English. It's a chemical term, I think. But it's still a word. So yeah.

Well, it was published in the American Chemical Society's works, so I guess that qualifies it

The longest officially recognized place name in an English-speaking country is a hill in New Zealand named Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu.

The fear of long words is known as Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.
They'll be scared of the phobia's name XD

Seriously trying to out do each others words?

By the way &quotneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" is synonym for a lung disease.

Eh, I've already won. It's recognized as the longest word or term that has actually ever been legitimately used. There are of course longer terms, but they have never been used in any sort of function and are not recognized as legitimate. Soooo I suppose we need a new topic of discussion...
