"I am the Walrus" by the Beatles. I sang it once in band class and the only kid who knew what I was talking about heard it in a movie. It isn't my favorite, but it is the strangest...
There're another 50 or so great old songs from MM, check out the albums This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, The Lonesome Crowded West, The Moon and Antarctica, Interstate-8, and Building Nothing out of Something.
All of these are great songs, but these guys in their earlier stages were notably rougher than Pavement, so be aware of that. Great once you're used to the roughness, though.
Anyways, I know they're a very well known band and all, but I don't think many people know this song. It's called The Call of Ktulu by Metallica. It's an epic instrumental song from their second album and I honestly think it's better than Orion.
Also, the White Stripes. They have a lot of talent, it's just two people, siblings Jack and Meg White. Not many people have heard of them; they have a lot of great songs.
